My friend Jess contacted me a while back and told me that she had some clients that recently moved to the Chicagoland area and needed engagement photos since she herself lived a number of hours away and wouldn't be able to make the trip in to Chicago for an engagement session. She asked if I would be up for it, of course I was! It really means a whole lot to me that another photographer would trust me to work with their clients! From there it was smooth sailing! I got into contact with Kelsey, she was super easy to coordinate with. We quickly found a date, and she already had locations in mind. Kelsey mentioned they might like some photos at the beach. I figured we could try North Avenue Beach, I knew a few friends had had some luck there. So I thought that a Saturday morning would be a quiet time, not too many people around...boy was I wrong! Who knew so many people got up early and ran/yoga'd/volleyball'd/biked/football'd at the beach? I sure didn't! I didn't even know that many people woke up early on Saturdays. The day was actually pretty gloomy. Lot's of fog. You couldn't see the city at all! Though it would have been nice to be able to see the city in the background of some of these pics, it was definitely better than a ton of direct sun! (and of course the sun started coming out right as we finished our session...funny how that works! I still love what we got!)
This is right before a red-wing black bird dive bombed Kyle's head!
From there we headed over to Millennium Park -- where Kyle proposed back in December.
Another thing I didn't know happened on Saturdays in the city: Zumba in Millennium Park. All of the sudden we started hearing music coming from the pavilion, When we walked over we found hundreds, if not a thousand+ of people doing Zumba on the lawn!
This is the spot where Kyle proposed back in December! They wanted to make sure we got pictures at that spot!
These guys were so much fun to work with! I'm so glad that I could capture their engagement session! Thank you Jessica for trusting me with your clients! I can't wait to see the images you capture from their big day!
