As many of you know I moved to Milwaukee recently! The move has been a long time coming, I've been dreaming and planning this move for over a year. And on November 1st I moved into my MKE apartment. My parents were superstars, I couldn't have done it without them. Not only the physical moving, but my dad helped in putting things together, running out for supplies, my mom marathon cleaned all my kitchen things, and added liners to my shelves. Definitely sped up the unpacking process!
I got to enjoy breakfast while looking out to this gorgeous autumn spectacle outside my window. I also loved the fact that I could walk across the street and buy myself some Spotted Cow and then come home and watch friends :]
I'm so lucky to have awesome friends that came up to visit me. My friend Kelsey came to visit that first week. We went to Bel Air Cantina for Taco Tuesday then explored the neighborhood near the lake. Drooled over the houses and found the lighthouse. Then my friend Danyel came to visit me the next weekend. She was able to sleep over which was obviously so much fun! We woke up, drank coffee and went for pancakes.
Slowly but surely my apartment began to take shape! It's so much fun when you get to the fun part: decorating.
After nearly a month of sleeping on a mattress on the floor and getting my clothing out of boxes, my furniture finally arrived...I just had to assemble it...
The weather was so nice to me, since it has been so unseasonably warm the last couple months, I was able to explore the city a bit, and get to know my neighborhood. One of my favorite little things that I love about this city is the sidewalks. The sidewalks are stamped with when they were poured. So as you walk you can watch for the stamps to get a feel of the history. Most of my neighborhood has sidewalks from '64 and '81, but I've seen some that are much older!
Now I've been living in Milwaukee for nearly 2 months. My apartment is starting to feel very much like home and I'm meeting more and more awesome people. Each week I'm discovering more awesome things about this city. I really am loving it. I have soooooo many people to thank for this awesome experience. I couldn't have done it without an expansive support team! Thank you to all my friends and family that made all of this possible!
I even did some Christmas decorating!
