Adam + Ashley | Engaged | Milwaukee Engagement Session

The day of Adam and Ashley's session it was storming on and off all day. Every time I thought it was going to clear up for the night, there would be another round of storms on it's way in. Ashley and I were messaging back and forth most of the afternoon trying to decide what the best plan was. I try not to reschedule sessions due to weather until the last minute. So often the forecast can be wrong, and it sucks when you reschedule and then when the time of the session comes it actually is gorgeous. Luckily the rain did finally clear up, we ended up pushing back our start 20 minutes to avoid the last bit of rain, but then it was the most gorgeous night for an engagement session!
Though when they scheduled their session, I didn't know I would be moving, it ended up being scheduled for the night before moving day for me; turned out Ashley was moving the next day too! So glad that it all worked out and that they were willing to come out even though it was a busy time, and trusted the weather wouldn't rain on their parade! It was so much fun hearing their story and little fun details about their lives. Even though their wedding is more than a year away, I can't wait!

Steve + Katy | Married | Intercontinental Milwaukee Wedding

Almost a year later, Wenzel wedding #2! Phil and Shelly were my first wedding in Milwaukee since moving here, so when I got an e-mail from her mom a few months after their wedding letting me know that Shelly's sister was engaged and they wanted me to capture her wedding as well, of course I was excited! (and then a few months after that, I was even more excited to hear that June 2017 would bring Wenzel wedding #3, for Mike and Becca!!!) The whole Wenzel family has been so sweet and kind and generous to me! It has been such a joy to work with them!
Steve and Katy couldn't keep smiles off their faces the entire time we were shooting, which is just how I like it :) Here are some of my favorites from their wedding!

Steve and Katy, like Phil and Shelly, did a day-before session. They wanted to ensure they got enough portraits (especially with it being the middle of winter, cold weather, and not much sun) so we did a two hour session the day before their wedding with just the two of them. This means we have two first looks :) The first one is from the day before their wedding day, the second is on their wedding day!

This was one of the sweetest, cutest, most adorable moments ever. This little girl came sauntering towards us (it's a public lobby, connected to the Pabst Theatre, and also, people just come to see the giant Christmas Tree) her mom quickly came after her, and grabbed her hand and apologized "sorry! She thinks you're a princess!" Oh my gosh! Be still my heart! Soooo sweet!

The florals were so stunning! Holy cow!

During Katy's mom's prayer she mentioned her excitement for grandchildren in the near future...Steve's reaction was priceless. Hahaha

"Why is no one on the dance floor! Let's get this party started!"

I think someone loves her grandma....but it's really hard to tell... :)

Steve got creative and used the distraction of calling out single men that should be on the dance floor to keep eyes off him while he sneakily got the garter! Pretty smart if you ask me!
